Dawnelle Hyland, educator and trainer in North Carolina, created a unique “school reinvention” initiative in the public schools that brought together a committed team of teachers, administrators, parents, and students. In three years, she improved the percentage of students performing on grade level from 46% to 89% based on statewide tests. This was the school’s highest overall performance in its 27 year history. Dawnelle is a member of Legacy Center’s NC19 Leadership Team.

Jordan Deva, a senior at NC State University, won a contest after the Legacy Center leadership program that resulted in his art placed on the outside of a building in downtown Raleigh, NC. Jordan Deva used what he learned in the workshops to enroll the judges in his design. This massive 20,000 square foot project involves 15 banners that are 60 feet tall and 22 feet wide.
